All you need to know about Teas, Juice & Coffee

Is Tea good for you?

Yes – the majority of teas contain polyphenols. Polyphenols are an antioxidant. Polyphenols also help to regulate blood sugar; long term studies have found that tea drinkers are less likely to develop diabetes.
There are also suggestions that tea drinking might be associated with lower cholesterol but the studies could not rule out the possibility that other factors might be responsible.

Can Tea improve my mood?

Yes – studies have found that drinking tea reduces the level of the hormone, cortisol. Cortisol is typically linked with stress.
Tea also contains an amino acid, L-Theanine, which has been shown to help improve mood and reduce anxiety.

Does drinking Tea make you gain weight?

It’s very unlikely and in fact the opposite is more likely to be true. Tea typically contains compounds known as catechins which have been shown to help weight loss.

Does drinking tea ruin your sleep?

This is possible depending on the type of tea you are drinking. Caffeine inhibits the body’s production of melatonin. Melatonin is a chemical which helps people sleep. That said, caffeine free teas wouldn’t have this issue.

Can Tea help with constipation?

There are certain natural ingredients found in some teas which can help you to go to the loo more regularly. Dandelion is a natural ingredient known for its diuretic properties and can be found in some herbal teas. Green Tea has also been found to have a really positive impact on digestive health for a lot of users. Teas containing Senna and Cascara are also famously used to aid digestive issues.
