All you need to know about Children's Supplements

Should I give my child vitamins?

You should always consult your GP if you think your child might have a vitamin deficiency. While getting children and toddlers to eat healthily isn't easy sometimes (especially when they are unwilling to eat all their vegetables), it can actually be easier than you think for your child to get all the vitamins they need from their diet, even if they are eating vegetables and fruit in small amounts throughout the week. That said, if your child feels tired more often or has an underlying health condition or symptoms of a vitamin deficiency, a vitamin supplement can be a great way to give them the nutrients they need. Overall, vitamin supplements should never replace a healthy balanced diet.

Which supplements should toddlers take?

At this important stage of development for your child, your toddler should be getting plenty of vitamin D and B12, as well as iron in their diet. You can do this by giving them a range of fruits and vegetables, as well as whole grains like bread and pasta, and foods that are high in protein such as beef, chicken, fish, eggs and tofu. Leafy green vegetables are important, too.

How do you boost a child's immune system?

Your child should have a healthy immune system if they are getting all the nutrients they need from their diet. Try giving your child more vegetables and fruits, more sleeping time, and get plenty of exercise and fresh air with them. Disinfect areas that may be prone to spreading germs such as food preparation areas, and if you smoke, do not smoke in front your child. If your child still displays symptoms of tiredness, fatigue and dull skin, speak to your GP about supplements.

At what age can I give my child supplements?

Wait until your child reaches the age of at least four before giving them vitamins or supplements, unless they show symptoms that would indicate a nutrition deficiency. In this case, you should speak to your GP.

Can Kids Take Vitamins And Probiotics At The Same Time?

Yes, children can take a probiotic at the same time as a multivitamin or vitamin supplemnent. For example, they can take Optibac kids digestive supplement and Solgar mulitvitamin gummy.
